The Mississippi Gulf Coast cities of Bay St. Louis and Waveland are proud members of the Main Street Association!  We invite you to explore our website to find out more about our exciting initiatives to rejuvenate our two communities.

The program was created in 1980 by The National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP) to provide support and encourage the revitalization of downtowns and neighborhood business districts.  It's evolved into one of the largest economic development programs in the United States, with 2,800 participating communities in all 50 states!

The Mississippi Main Street Association - a private, non-profit organization -  contracted with the Mississippi Development Authority in 1989 to implement and administer the Main Street Program in Mississippi.  Read more about the Main Street approach on our About Us page.
